Now that the new year is upon us it is time to get serious about landing that next job. Many of you might be playing with your shiny new iPhone or mobile gadget that you received as a Christmas gift right now. I will be highlighting the top ten must have iPhone apps that you will need as you embark on your job hunting quest in 2012.

- Job Search by Indeed.com – This is my favorite job board app because it actually aggregates job listing from the major job boards as well as company career sites.
- Job Search Engine by Linkup.com - This app will deliver to you only jobs that are found on company career pages. These jobs are not found on job boards.
- Job Aware - This app is now available for Free. This my favorite overall job searching App as it incorporates multiple functions of the job searching process. It utilizes your phones gps to find jobs near you and tracks your progress through the application process. This app also provides salary comparison information and also syncs up with Linkedin
- Linkedin – Of course the Linkedin app is a must for the top ten list. This is the ultimate networking app that allows you to connect and network with over 140 million Linkedin users and stay current on the latest news and Linkedin Group happenings.
- Business Card Reader – This is a very cool app that works by taking a picture of a business card and then storing that information directly into your contact list. This app costs $5.99
- Pocket Resume – There are quite a few resume apps available but the only one that I would recommend is Pocket Resume. With Pocket Resume you can create, store, update and send your resume directly through your iPhone. This app costs $2.99
- Career Builder – Search over 2 million jobs listed on Career Builder and get access to your CB profile anytime.
- Monster – Search the Monster job listings and apply directly through your phone.
- Be Known – This is an app created by Monster.com that helps you leverage your Facebook network to help you find and land a job.
- Interview Prep Questions – I have tested dozens of interviewing apps and this one stands out among the rest. This a flash card App that presents you with typical interview questions for you to answer and also provides suggestions on how to best answer the questions.
Let me know in the comments if you have used any of these apps or if you have another apps you think should have made the list.
